The 2011 1oz Silver Canadian Timber Wolf coin released bythe Royal Canadian Mint has placed a strict and low mintage on these coins. With the unprecedented demand of these gorgeous .9999 fine silver coins in Europe and the rest of the world, the 1oz silver Canadian Timberwolf coin is the first coin released in the Royal Canadian Mints 3 year long Canadian Wildlife Coin Series program, the second coin is scheduled to be released in March 2011.This silver bullion coin has a beautifully designed Canadian Timber Wolf with the moon and mountain side landscape behind this beautiful Canadian predator. The coin is to be minted in a Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the bullion coin is struck from one ounce of .9999 pure silver and bears a $5 face value, the wolf design is the work of senior mint engraver William Woodruff who also designed the ½oz Timberwolf. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, created in 2003 by Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt.

The Canadian Silver ½oz Timberwolf was crafted after the immense success of the 1oz Silver Maple Leaf Coin which has been produced by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988. Following the success of this coin the Royal Canadian Mint decided to produce a ½oz silver bullion coin in.9999 pure silver, the concept of creating a bullion coin in a ½oz has made it easy for people to invest in small quantities of bullion silver in the shape of coins. Apart from this using the Canadian Timberwolf mark on the coin has made it a favorite with collectors also thereby creating an increased demand. This silver coin has the image of an Eastern TimberWolf which is depicted standing alone on a hill during a full in the winter night. This silver coin was designed by the artist and renowned Royal Canadian Mint engraver William Woodruff.
