The Silver Canadian Wildlife series had its official launch on September 9th 2010 by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), the Mint's Ottawa facility will produce one million silver bullion coins for each different coin released, and will showcase a distinct Canadian wildlife theme. A total of six different species will be represented in these finely crafted bullion coins that are struck of the same pure silver as the mint's world famous Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins. These silver bullion coin are struck from one ounce of .9999 pure silver and bears a $5 face value.
The obverse of each coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, created in 2003 by Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt, the reverse of the Timberwolf and Grizzly bear coins have been engraved by designer and senior mint engraver William Woodruff.
